This toolbox session discusses the role of the spotter to support equipment operators and workers on site. The course trains about the importance of communication, visibility, pre-planning, hand signals, and remaining attentive at all times while on spotter duty.
Learning Outcomes:
At the completion of this course, learners will:
- Learn the duties of a spotter as an extra set of eyes for drivers, equipment operators and workers.
- Understand that a spotter needs to be highly visible at all times while on duty.
- Learn that a spotter must be fully devoted to the task and attentive at all times.
- Understand the need to agree upon a set of hand signals that the spotter and operator use to communicate.
