Permits to Work are required for designated high-risk tasks such as working at height, confined space work, performing excavation work, working in hazardous areas, performing hot work tasks, or other high-risk tasks such as abrasive blasting or work that crosses pipelines.

This course outlines the key responsibilities of the personnel undertaking high-risk work such as the Construction Manager, the Superintendent and Supervisor, the Project Engineer, the OHS or HSE Manager, the Permit Coordinator, the Permit Holder and the Worker undertaking the high-risk task. The purpose of the training is to ensure all personnel on high-risk tasks understand their duties.
